However, the number of deals decreased in Q4 2015 with 1,013, as compared to 1,143 in Q4 2014. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the number of deals decreased and deal values increased in Q4 2015, when compared to 1,053 deals worth USD145.7 billion in Q3 2015. Licensing agreements recorded an increase in upfront payments and milestone payments in Q4 2015. A total of USD867.6m and USD10.4 billion were reported as upfront and milestone payments in Q4 2015, compared to USD729.3m and USD6.5 billion, respectively in Q4 2014.
