Across the globe, 117 new refineries are planned to start operations between 2016 and 2020. Of these, 39 refineries are planned to start in Asia and 34 refineries are planned to start in Africa regions. Nigeria, China, Iran, Indonesia and Malaysia are the top five countries which will contribute 46.4% to the global planned refining capacity in 2020.
