The biggest LNG liquefaction contract signed in Q1 2016 was between Qatargas and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited on February 10, 2016. As per the contract, Qatargas is expected to supply 3.8 mtpa of LNG from Qatargas II (Train 5) liquefaction terminal to Port Qasim Floating I regasification terminal in Pakistan. The contract was signed for duration of 15 years (from 2016 to 2031) and has a total value of US$16 billion.
• In Q1 2016, Pakistan signed the biggest contract volume among all LNG importing countries in the world. All the volume will come from a single contract that the country signed with Qatar for import of 3.8 mtpa of LNG, beginning from 2016.
• Pakistan State Oil Company Limited signed the biggest contract volume among all the LNG importing companies in the world for Q1 2016. The company signed a 15-year contract with Qatargas for import of 3.8 mtpa of LNG from the Qatargas II (Train 5) liquefaction terminal.
• The second largest contract signed by volume in Q1 2016 was between Veresen Inc and JERA Co., Inc. As per the 20-year old contract, Veresen will supply 1.5 mtpa of LNG from the Jordan Cove terminal in the US to Japan. LNG deliveries are expected to begin in 2021 and end in 2041.
• Two contracts signed between Chevron and ENN Group, and Origin Energy and ENN Group jointly constitute the third largest contracts signed by volume in Q1 2016. Each of the contracts will supply 0.5 mtpa of LNG to the ENN Group. The contract between Chevron and ENN Group is for duration of 10 years (from 2018 to 2028), while the contract between Origin Energy and ENN Group is for a duration of five years (from 2018 to 2023).
